Alvarado Creek Riparian Restoration

Alvarado Creek is part of the San Diego River Watershed, which is the second largest watershed in San Diego County. The Alvarado Creek restoration is a multi-project restoration effort that SERG is currently performing. Some important aspects of these projects are to: 1) reduce fire fuel that could provoke wildfires 2) improve the water quality of the San Diego River Watershed 3) revegetate the surrounding areas of the creek with riparian species 4) improve the habitat for wildlife, including the endangered Least Bell’s Vireo (Vireo bellii pusillus).
